The representation of the human image in all its facets and contradictions which are attributes of the Berlin school of sculpture, has been given little space in the international dialogue. The Berlin Sculpture was and is still neither avant-garde nor revolutionary.
The exhibition “REALISM AS A METHOD - 6 Berlin sculptors” is trying, against the background of the rich tradition of the Berlin Sculpture, to direct the view to the excellent works of the six sculptors Fritz Cremer, Waldemar Grzimek, Sabina Grzimek, Emerita Pansowová, Hans Scheib and Genni/Jenny Wiegmann-Mucchi and to show that this may also have a role model for upcoming sculptural work.
